- Our Briggs & Stratton 40N877-0022-G1 (656cc, 20 Gross HP) engine is a compatible replacement for the Briggs & Stratton 406777-1518-B1 (656cc) engine on the HUSQVARNA YTH 2042 960480030-00 mower.
- NOTICE:
- If your engine model number starts with "40", it indicates a 656cc displacement . Both your original engine and our replacement engine share the same displacement.
- Our 20 Gross HP engine provides sufficient power to replace your old engine. If you're comfortable with having slightly more or less horsepower than your previous engine, this model will be a suitable replacement.

- Choke-A-Matic: Your mower may have a separate cable to connect to the choke device of
- your engine. Our engine has a choke-a-matic feature. What this means is
- that the choke and throttle device connect to the same cable. If you
- push the throttle lever all the way up, it will choke the engine. So you
- will have to mark on your throttle lever where is the maximum point. If
- you pass that point, you will choke the engine. We think you may be able to transfer the choking device/control from your old engine to the new one or you can always get a combined choke-throttle lever with cable from a local mower shop that fits your mower.
- DUAL Circuit Alternator. (*only works
- for mower with manual blade engagement, engaging blades by
- pulling/pushing a lever or stick). It WILL NOT work for mower with a
- electric PTO. If your mower has a button to pull to engage the blades,
- it means the mower has PTO Electric Clutch to run the blades. Engine
